Seafloor Investigations (SFI) specializes in the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of coastal & offshore survey data. We manage entire field efforts planning surveys, acquiring seabed samples, providing support equipment, specialized personnel, specialized labs, data processing and data interpretation. SFI has extensive experience in, and works in, both the commercial and academic offshore industry.
Mr Kurras is a Marine Geologist Geophysicist and Ocean Engineer with over 30 years of combined industry and academic experience in the offshore industry, working in places as diverse as Saudi Arabia, Suriname, and Alaska. He has extensive technical expertise in mapping near-shore, shallow water, and deep ocean environments using a variety of geophysical and hydrographic systems and processing packages. He has experience in advance positioning techniques, geologic interpretation, marine habitat classification, and geospatial data management.
He has been extensively involved in offshore construction projects, telecommunication route investigations, hydrographic surveys, coastal investigations and deep-ocean exploration. He also is well versed in project management, field logistics, quality assurance, project reporting and has organized and directed multiple surveys within the Clarion-Clipperton region of the Pacific Ocean. His recent focus has been on polymetallic resource exploration, surveying, sampling and estimation. His broad experience base, technical knowledge, and management ability insure an organized, well thought-out approach to any project, producing high quality products and a satisfied client.
John Hewitt is a marine geologist and geochemist who brings a unique blend of expertise to the field of offshore exploration. With a solid educational foundation in marine geology and geochemistry, complemented by a minor in Geospatial Analysis and Data Analytics, John is well-prepared to tackle the complexities of marine environments. His proficiency in geophysics and mechanical aptitude further enhance his capabilities, allowing him to effectively analyze and interpret subsurface geological features through a wide array of methods within the deep-sea settings.
Driven by a passion for uncovering the mysteries of the ocean floor, John's multidisciplinary approach, combining geology, chemistry, physics, and spatial analysis, positions him in a unique place to contribute to offshore exploration. Eager to contribute his skills and knowledge to the industry, John is ready to assist any client with their deep-sea exploration needs.
Savannah Enriquez is a Marine Geologist Geophysicist and Logistics Specialist. She has extensive maritime experience and knowledge from serving in the US Navy for four years. She has spearheaded a team in the launch and recovery in flight operations, acquiring the necessary leadership and detail-oriented skills. She has experience with geophysical inversion methods and techniques for recovering information on the subsurface physical properties to create geophysical models and geologic correlations.
Beginning her career in offshore work with a focus on deep sea mineral extraction and analysis, she applies a multidisciplinary skillset during field data acquisition to give a thorough investigation on-site. She has conducted polymetallic nodule extraction and analysis with a team in the Clarion-Clipperton zone in the Pacific Ocean. Her current focus is using geospatial information systems to combine field work data collected and open-source remote sensing data to improve the understanding of ocean floor processes in relation to potential deep-sea resources and area abundance. Along with versatile qualifications, she handles projects meticulously to ensure the best outcome for a client, making certain their needs are met.
