Specialized Equipment & Systems Available For Lease
Seafloor Investigations has customized systems, labs and equipment tailored to the acquisition, handling and processing of high resolution deep ocean survey data, geologic bottom samples and biologic samples. There are four types of custom designed portable containerized labs for processing and handling deep sea biology, bottom samples and polymetallic nodules (Coldlabs, ChemLabs, GeoLabs and DryLabs).
EdgeTech 2205B Sonar
The SFI EdgeTech 2205B sonar is a dual frequency sidescan single frequency interferometric bathymetric sonar designed for deployment onboard an AUV. The system simultaneously acquires co-registered dual frequency sidescan and single frequency bathymetry data at 5 - 10 cm horizontal resolution. The system is 6000 m rated, has an add-on SVP, and board options for either AC or DC power. The system includes standard spares, spare boards and can be shipped via expedited carrier.
BX750 Boxcore Sampler
A customized BX750 boxcore with a 75 cm x 75 cm x 50 cm sample box and rated to 6000 m depth. The unit can hold 6 stacks of weights with holder brackets. The rental package comes with two full units, each with a single spade, two sample boxes and a sample dolly. The system includes standard spares kit and ships in a 20ft HC Container.
BX650 Boxcore Sampler
A modified BX650 boxcore with a 50 cm x 50 cm x 60 cm sample box and rated to 6000 m depth. The unit can hold 3 sets of weights with holder brackets (1/2” rod holes with 6” spacing) on the 3 legs. The rental package comes with a single spade, two sample boxes and a sample dolly. The system includes standard spares kit and ships in a 10ft HC Container.
GeoLab Vans
